Why it's Important to Find Time for Yourself

When travelling by air they suggest, should there ever be a problem, always put your oxygen mask on first before helping your child with theirs. This is advice can be applied towards every day life. If you don't give yourself time for you, how can you help anyone else. By finding those extra moments to take care of you, you can actually better take care of your little ones. Sometimes all you need is just a few minutes- just enough to "recharge" your batteries. Here are a few suggestions:

Mini Spa to go- While your children love to entertain in dance or song, give yourself a mini hand or foot massage with some nice massage lotion or oils.

Do you have a pile of catalogs or magazines you haven't yet glanced at? If your children like to have you near by while they watch tv, grab your pile and browse while snuggling.

Grown Up Story Time- Keep a book (or your e-reader) in your purse. While you are waiting in line somewhere, waiting to pick up your kids, etc. Grab your story on the go! Download an audio book to listen to while travelling.

Team up with other moms- Need to go grocery shopping but don't want to bring the crew? Ask another mom to swap with you when she needs to go. I swear shopping by yourself is like a mini vacation!

I've recently found out that my children love to give me a massage, so why not kick back and relax? If you have more than one kid (like me) one can massage your feet, another your back, and another your legs! It's Maaaarvooloussss!
